Haiyang Liu, Ph.D., is R&D Director at the Asia Anti-Aging and Translational Medicine Research Institute (AAAR). He has long worked at the interface of protein science and cellular engineering, integrating structural biology, biochemistry, cell biology, and model organism approaches to dissect the mechanisms of major diseases such as neurodevelopmental disorders and cancer, and to identify novel therapeutic candidates. He is the principal investigator of a Young Scientist Grant from the National Natural Science Foundation of China and has participated in several national major research programs. His research as first or corresponding author has been published in leading journals including PNAS, eLife, JBC, and Structure. At AAAR, Dr. Liu is responsible for building the institute’s R&D platforms and driving translational research, with the goal of creating a translational engine that can prospectively identify and systematically reduce risks in early-stage drug discovery, thereby efficiently bridging the critical gap between scientific discovery and clinical value.
