Asian Academy of Anti-Aging Research and Translational Medicine(AAAR)
Dr. Shelley graduated from the Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science & Technology. In 1999, as an Ivy Wu Fellow (one of only ten selected nationwide), she served as a Visiting Physician in the Department of Cardiology at Queen Mary Hospital, affiliated with the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong. Dr. Shelley obtained a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) degree from the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong in 2003, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Medicine in 2007. She previously held positions as a Postdoctoral Fellow and later a Senior Research Fellow at the State Key Laboratory of Brain and Cognitive Sciences, Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine, The University of Hong Kong. She also served as a researcher at the Center for Regenerative Medicine at the Hong Kong Institute of Science and Innovation, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences (HKISI-CAS), and as an Associate Chief Physician in the Department of Cardiology at Fuwai Hospital Shenzhen, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Dr. Shelley serves as the Acting Dean of The Loop Institute of Innovative Translational Medicine and the Acting Dean of the Asia Academy of Anti-aging Research and Translational Medicine (AAAR). She is also a Distinguished Professor at Shenzhen Maternity & Child Healthcare Hospital and a Senior Research Fellow at the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine of The University of Hong Kong. As a specialist cardiologist, Dr. Shelley possesses nearly 30 years of clinical experience in cardiovascular medicine, including interventional cardiology, echocardiography, and cardiac rehabilitation. She is the sole professional committee member from Hong Kong for the Chinese Psychosocial Oncology Society (C-POS). She participated in and assisted Professor Dayi Hu, Founding President of the Great Wall International Congress of Cardiology (GW-ICC), in establishing work related to Chinese cardiovascular rehabilitation medicine and cardiovascular psychology (known as Psycho-Cardiology). She also participated in the writing of China's first textbook on Psycho-cardiology. She has led or participated in numerous drug clinical trials, multi-center epidemiological studies, and drug registration processes. Since 2021, Dr. Shelley has fully overseen the establishment and operation of The Loop Institute of Innovative Translational Medicine and the Asia Academy of Anti-aging Research and Translational Medicine. This initiative aims to establish the first world-class comprehensive and interdisciplinary translational medicine R&D institute in the Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone, themed on of anti-aging and age-related diseases. By establishing four translational platforms centered around geriatrics, chronic diseases, and related conditions, the project adds significant impetus to promoting Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong science and technology innovation, translational medicine development in the Hetao area, and scientific research cooperation, academic exchange, and development between Shenzhen and Hong Kong. These four platforms include: 1. Platform for Small Molecule Drug Screening and Research on Aging and Aging-related Diseases; 2. Platform for Small Molecule Drug (SMD) Screening and Research on Aging and Aging-related Diseases; 3. IVD, microfluidics and biochip development and clinical application platform for aging-related diseases; 4. Loop Laboratory of Shenzhen Maternal and Child Health Medical Research Institute, Loop Subcenter of Shenzhen Clinical Medical Research Center for Obstetrics and Reproductive Diseases.
